A Biographical Sketch

To know Mary Lincoln is to love Mary Lincoln!  Joyce considers it an honor to portray Mary Lincoln. Mrs. Lincoln has been unjustly criticized since her days in the White House. Much of

what has been written about her was false.  Her enemy William Herndon did all that he could to

destroy her in print after the death of the President. The public believed him since he was Mr.

Lincoln’s law partner. Many others joined him for various reasons. It is Joyce’s desire to bring to

life the truth of Mary Lincoln=s life.

Since 1996 Joyce has worked with R.J. Lindsay of Chicago Ill.  Fritz Kline of Springfield, Ill. and Jim Rubin of Prosperity, WV. She counts it an honor and privilege to be able to work with these Lincoln Presenters.

Joyce has had the privilege of performing Mary Lincoln in many different including: Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Kentucky, West Virginia, and North Carolina.

In 1999 Joyce attended for the first time the ALincoln Days@ in Hodgenville KY. Out of thirteen other AMarys,@ Joyce placed first in the contest. She is a member of the Lincoln Presenters Association.
